Legal Commercial Business Development Underwriter

We are exclusively working with a market-leading legal insurance provider who are looking to hire a Legal Commercial Business Development Underwriter to join their Commercial team, reporting into the team's Director and Head Underwriter who is a seasoned veteran in this field.

You would be joining the flourishing business at an exciting time as they are in the midst of expanding their reach into new jurisdictions. Culturally, the company embodies a progressive mindset which has instilled a friendly and collegiate working environment which gets the work done without burning the candle at both ends!

The main focus will be based around winning new clients for the Company, by utilising your contacts within Private Practice, and developing new relationships. You will also be undertaking some commercial underwriting matters too, assessing the cases merits. This role includes some travelling to visit and audit clients within the UK depending on your appetite. There will also be the opportunity to mentor junior team members whilst working on matters.

The right candidate will be someone who can demonstrate relationship building and relationship management skills and experience with clients. You must also understand how law firms work and have worked on commercial (non-injury) legal matters.

This role will suit two types of candidates:
-E&W qualified Solicitor who has had a focus on contentious/litigation work within commercial (Non-Injury) looking to apply their legal technical knowledge in a different environment
-Qualified Underwriter who have pertinent experience in ATE legal insurance
