If the answer to the above 3 questions is yes, then we have the perfect role for you!

Our client, a global Fintech, who provides secure payment solutions connecting businesses to their customers has advised us that they are looking to hire a Legal Counsel to work in their London Office. This will be a hybrid/remote role whereby the successful candidate will be part of the Gifting and Incentive Team, acting as the intermediary between the Americas Team and Europe Team.The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel of the Gifting and Incentive Team and the CEO.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to work on projects that have a company-wide impact. You must have a hands-on approach and be someone that understands payments and the regulatory framework relevant to the industry.

The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing commercial legal advice to the gifting and incentive teams on multiple legal issues, especially commercial contracts, disputes management and all regulatory issues
  • Advising the gifting and incentive teams on regulatory matters in respect of English, Irish and all other European Regulators
  • Instructing and managing external counsel where appropriate
  • Working directly with a global team of lawyers and payments professionals within the business
  • Assessing and advising the company on the impact that new laws and regulations will have on the company's practices


To be successful for this role you must:

  • Be a 4-10 years PQE England and Wales Qualified Lawyer
  • Have prior experience working in the payments or financial services industry preferably in-house and possess an understanding of the regulatory framework within the payments industry
  • Be experienced in dealing with regulators
  • Have a commercial contracts background working within a regulatory environment
  • Possess commercial and forward-thinking instincts to understand the legal risks of all company matters and how to make the company money

GDPR knowledge would also be useful but not essential.
