Management Accountant

Our exciting growing construction client is looking to make an important hire for an energetic Management Accountant looking to kick on and progress in their career. The successful candidate will have strong experience with core Management Accounting as well as any experience coaching / mentoring juniors.

Location: Wokingham - 5 days onsite

Salary: £65,000 + 10% bonus

Industry: Construction

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end accounts, including management accounts and Reporting Pack.
  • Handle Group P&L reconciliations and gross margin analysis.
  • Manage entity and Group balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Enhance financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Forecast weekly cashflow for each Business Unit.
  • Analyse financial performance against Budget/Targets/Forecasts.
  • Oversee monthly stock take and reconciliation.
  • Produce forecasts and budgets.
  • Report Business Unit KPIs, collaborating with Divisional Managers.
  • Support finance team members.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1s and quarterly reviews with Assistant Management Accountant.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for Group Financial Controller and CFO.
  • Prepare year-end documentation and assist with audits.
  • Improve company policies with Group Financial Controller.
  • Deputise for Group Financial Controller as needed.
  • Administer and maintain ERP system.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Accounting Certification: ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
  • Proven management accounting experience.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analytical Skills: Analysing financial performance and KPIs.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Cashflow forecasting and budgeting.
  • Process Improvement: Enhancing financial reporting processes.
  • ERP Systems: Administering ERP systems.
  • Stock Management: Managing stock take and reconciliation.
  • Communication: Collaborating with Divisional Managers and conducting reviews.
  • Leadership: Supporting finance team and deputizing for the Group Financial Controller.
  • Audit Preparation: Preparing year-end documentation and supporting audits.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Performing ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong financial software and ERP systems skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Effective teamwork and support skills.
