Marks Sattin are working with a Global Manufacturing business in Chesterfield who are looking to appoint a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The role of the Senior Finance Business Partner will report directly into the Group Head of Finance, you will be able to work autonomously, lead a team and have the drive and motivation to develop projects and help to drive the business performance forward.

This is an extremely exciting position as they have a plan in place to develop the successful candidate into a Finance Director role. Duties will include:

  • Lead the process for manufacturing units / business units P&L budget / quarterly forecasts in line with business strategy and targets in order to contribute to informed business decision making.
  • Identify, challenge and proactively satisfy internal customer requirements to build a service which enhances effective delivery of site performance.
  • Continuously review existing business practices to identify and implement changes which deliver greater cost efficiency.
  • Lead the process for identifying, prioritising and monitoring capital spend within the manufacturing / business unit.
  • Member of the Senior Management Team responsible for providing strategic direction and the day to day running of the business.
  • Manage all finance and accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Pricing.
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including all HMRC returns.
  • Manage relationship with external accountants and other financial institutions, including banks and insurers.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems. Streamline and automate business processes to improve administrative efficiency.
  • Use financial analysis to provide targeted strategic insights across every department of the business. Provide high quality advice and support to internal decision makers e.g. business case analysis.
  • Prepare reports for senior management, board members and shareholders.

The successful candidate should be a commercially astute, qualified Accountant. You may not be the finished article but be ambitious and have the drive to succeed in a challenging yet rewarding business that puts their employees at the forefront of everything that they do.
