An amazing opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor to work for this leading financial Services organisation based in the heart of Leeds Centre.

The purpose of the role will be to help support the internal audit team by delivering the audit plan by providing internal audit assurance. You will be responsible for planning, leading and reporting on audit engagement all while ensuring the risk is being effectively managed and controlled.

Responsibilities include

  • To deliver and lead individual audits assigned by audit management to meet the commitment made to the Audit Committee.
  • Managing and maintaining ongoing relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Quality time management skills in order to focus on delivery and the ability to manage and maintain own workload
  • To ensure that audit delivery processes consider all material risks and challenge the appropriateness and effectiveness of the first and second lines of defence control frameworks
  • To apply the agreed audit methodologies to ensure conformance with professional guidelines (Standards, Ethics and Financial Services Code) issued by the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • To work in conjunction with management, to develop cost effective and practical solutions to improve levels of control and reduce risk exposure.
  • To prepare and present reports for Senior Management and/or the Audit Committee conveying the conclusion drawn from audit work undertaken.
  • To attend and contribute to Working Groups and Forums, submitting papers on control related matters, where appropriate

Qualifications needed:

  • You will need to be an enthusiastic driven individual with previous experience within either external or internal audit coming from a financial services background.
  • You must be a fully qualified IIA, ACA, ACCA, CIA member with a passion for further developing your career in internal audit.
  • You will have the ability to face off to senior stakeholders and be comfortable supporting junior team members in a mentor capacity
