Technical Accounting Manager

We are supporting one of our fast growing Financial Services clients based in Reading with the important hire for an ACA or ACCA Qualified Technical Accounting Manager.

Location: Reading - hybrid working

Salary: Up to £70k

Industry: Financial Services

Responsibilities:

  • Execute monthly and annual consolidation tasks, statutory accounting, and group reporting.
  • Supply essential data for corporate tax filings.
  • Engage fully in the external audit process, including leading discussions with auditors and advisors, and addressing arising queries.
  • Support financial and tax due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Review completion accounts, determine final payments, and monitor forecast contingent payments.
  • Draft technical papers on accounting treatments for unique or complex issues.
  • Report financial data to regulators for regulated entities within the group.
  • Assist in integrating finance functions of acquired companies.
  • Facilitate company hive-ups and streamline group structures.
  • Identify, document, and implement process improvement opportunities within the finance team's systems and controls.
  • Continuously update the group accounting manual to reflect new standards and requirements.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Extensive technical expertise in IFRS.
  • Audit expereince and Audit mindset.
  • Familiarity with UK reporting standards and requirements.
  • Proficient in consolidations and accounting for acquisitions.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in report writing.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate with various business areas outside of finance to achieve goals.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including PowerQuery experience being advantageous but not mandatory.
