Location: Manchester
Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 + Study Support
An award winning and progressive Financial Services Business that is going through a period of rapid growth and change is currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team.
If you are currently studying towards your professional qualifications and looking for the next step in your career this could be the perfect opportunity for you. The ideal candidate will have a financial services background and be confident working in an ever changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Month end accruals/prepayments/provisions.
- Posting of general ledger journals.
- Documentation of process and procedures.
- Ad-hoc reports using Excel and improving on current reports where necessary.
- Support the production of business line financial accounts.
- Support production of analytical reports to management and Group Finance.
- Support the bank reconciliation team.
- Gain an understanding of operational processes and suggest improvements.
- Support FP&A function of Mortgages; in particular, ability to prepare month-end reporting.
- Support Central & Group Finance in ad hoc analysis.
Experience:
- Currently studying towards professional qualifications (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a fast paced Finance Function.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytically minded
- Ability to understand and work with new systems (knowledge of Oracle is desirable but not essential)
