A fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team at a leading Food manufacturer in Grimsby. Initially a 12 month contract however you will get plenty of chances to prove yourself for a longer term stay with this business.

The role will involve:

• Assist the Site Accountant with weekly and monthly accounts preparation.
• Overhead analysis, including drilling down into invoices and PO's. Liaising with other departments on overhead spend, creating monthly reporting packs for budget holders..
• Labour usage and recovery analysis weekly.
• Assist on yearly budget preparation on overheads, analysis and communication with all budget holders.
• Calculating accruals and prepayments monthly and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Maintaining standard costing across the site, liaising with the data and Oracle teams

Key requirements

• Previous experience of management accounts.
• CIMA, ACCA or ACA part or newly-qualified.
• Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Strong IT / systems skills and experience with high volume accountancy packages.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Be able to demonstrate working well in a team.
• Manufacturing / FMCG experience is preferable but not essential.
