Assistant Management Accountant - London

A Media company based in Central London are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant on an on-going contract which could turn out to be open ended dependent on performance. Responsible for providing financial and administrative services to ensure an efficient, accurate & timely Financial & Management Accounting function. Primarily responsible for supporting the Marketing Services divisions. Assisting the financial close and reporting process, including the month and year end management and statutory reporting, Provide a high level of service to the business, in particular the transactional function of finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and modifying Marketing Services projects, contracts, project budgets, and customer invoices according to the company or Client requirements.
  • Preparation of monthly project reconciliations, by monitoring progress of projects. Ensure all expenditure processed timely, investigate any variances, and ensure project billings issued to customers and payments collected are timely.
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts for the EMEA Marketing Services divisions, providing appropriate level review, analyses and reconciliation
  • Transactional support of P&Ls for Marketing Services divisions ensuring accuracy of reporting, meaningful variance analysis and commentary for Senior Management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for the EMEA Marketing Services divisions.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries in line with month end procedures.
  • Regular review and communication of accounts receivable aging and cash collection receipts to the Financial Controller and Finance Manager.
  • Ensuring contracts and all appropriate documentation in place for all revenue.
  • Prepare revenue and pre-bill revenue recognition schedules in line with marketing services contracts ensuring billing and project payables accurately recorded.
  • Maintain revenue schedules for monthly review by Finance Manager.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with auditors and creating financial reports to support year-end and other audit requirements.
  • Develop financial systems to drive efficiencies and make processes more user friendly.

Requirements:

  • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
  • Proficient with Excel. Ideally Pivot tables & VLOOKUPs
  • Minimum of 3+ years in accounting roles with a minimum of 1+ years studying professional accountancy qualification
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections i
  • Experience working in a multi-national company

Desirable:

  • Experience using Workday system
  • Experience working within a finance function of a sports or marketing company
