Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: £24,000 - £38,000 DOE

Location: Sherburn in Elmet, LS25

Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working available after on-boarding/induction

We are working in partnership with a rapidly growing manufacturer in Sherburn in Elmet to find their new Assistant Management Accountant. You will be reporting directly into the Finance Director and be a key part of their small, yet fast paced and very reactive finance function.

Key responsibility: Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts. Provide timely management information to Finance Director and other members of the management team.

Key tasks:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Preparation of monthly bank and control account reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Assist with preparation of stock records
• Preparation and posting of month end journals: accruals and prepayments
• Assist with the preparation of year end audit and financial statements

Other areas to think about:

• Preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecast
• Budget v actuals analysis
• 13-week cash flow forecast

Skills & Experience

• Part-qualified / studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft excel, word, outlook
• Proven experience of managing and prioritising a varied finance workload.
• Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Recent experience in a similar role
• Ability to communicate and provide clear and easily understandable support to partners
• Flexible and willing to work in a constantly changing and expanding work environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous but not essential
