A great opportunity to join my cleint in their Centra London offices as an ETRM Business Analyst.

THE ASSIGNMENT

The ICT Business analyst will work on all parts of the application lifecycle (analysis, design, testing, post go-live support and operational maintenance) within a Commodity Trading and Risk Management environment.

This concerns commercial ETRM packages and applications (e.g. OpenLink Endur, Trayport) as well as in-house developed solutions (using Microsoft .Net, Java, Python technologies).

The ICT Business Analyst will ensure quality and timely deliverables, as well as maintaining a strong connection to the Business stakeholders to ensure the continuous development of both technology and service delivery.

MAIN JOB FUNCTION

The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring an understanding of business requirements by:

 Conducting interview to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases scenarios and other methods.

 Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on project-by-project basis to define project impact and success criteria.

 Work with Business stakeholders, as well as ICT project and application maintenance teams to prioritize requirements, as well as managing delivery timelines and communications across all Business areas.

 Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.

 Perform quality assurance testing on application changes and features within the ICT domain and to support Business users in their acceptance testing and any application training required.

 Contribute towards the implementation of changes to applications and provide post go-live support for the application maintenance team.

 Promote and maintain strong delivery standards across the organisation with a focus on both quality and timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

 Link between the company Business Functions and the ICT Department to evaluate their needs and priorities (requirements gathering, opportunity management based on emerging technology and business case).

 To participate in both projects and application maintenance activities.

 Eliciting and documenting functional requirements following internal standards, including defining acceptance criteria and test cases.

 Champion within the organisation to ensure high quality deliverables throughout the software development lifecycle, including non-functional requirements where appropriate.

 Link between external ICT partners (e.g. Vendors, System Integrators) and the ICT Department.

 Where possible, to contribute towards the implementation of the system by configuration and coding.

 To guarantee the quality of deliverables from ICT development and testing teams, as well as to coordinate User Acceptance Testing with Business users.

 To support the business functions to efficiently and correctly use the systems by providing training and support where required.

 To act as a functional expert for ETRM applications, always striving to ensure quality is delivered and timelines are met.
