Start your job searchMarks Sattin are delighted to be working in Retained Partnership with a FTSE AIM Listed Group to help appoint a new CFO.
This key role will support the future growth of the business and requires a hands-on finance professional who will act as a business partner to the CEO whilst ensuring that robust financial controls and processes are in place across the Group.
Key responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to provide insights into the company's financial performance and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
- Evaluate capital investment opportunities and provide recommendations based on financial analysis and risk assessment.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial obligations including AIM listing rules.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise the company's financial position.
- Develop and implement effective cash management policies and procedures, including forecasting and budgeting cash needs.
- Establish relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure appropriate funding and manage banking activities.
Risk Management:
- Identify and manage corporate risks, including legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Work closely with management to develop risk management strategies and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Implement internal controls and financial safeguards to protect the company's assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Evaluate insurance coverage and manage relationships with insurance providers.
Financial Decision Support:
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions, including pricing, cost optimisation, and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to analyse and evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, projects, and product lines.
- Assess the financial viability of potential acquisitions, partnerships, or expansion opportunities.
Candidate Requirements:
Good personal presence and a collegiate personal leadership style combined with a confident, professional and hardworking approach are critical to the success of this role. The appointed candidate will be ambitious, articulate with a high degree of intellect. The candidate must be technically capable, commercially aware and possess the ability to inspire and influence people at all levels. To achieve the above, the successful candidate must have a combination of the following skills and experience:
- Prior CFO/FD Experience
- PLC Exposure as either CFO or Group FC
- Strong and demonstrable team leadership and people management skills.
- Commercially aware, action orientated with the intellectual capacity to contribute at a senior level in an international manufacturing environment.
- Experience of high-level decision making with the energy and drive to turn ideas into action.
- Strong analytical ability with a track record of data interpretation in a fast-moving organisation.
- Can confidently manage internal and external relationships with an appropriate level of credibility.
