Job Overview

· Responsible for financial and tax control of the group, including acting as Company Secretary and signatory.

· Responsible for the fund and SPV reporting oversight, including appointment as a Director on various SPV boards.

· Responsible for various operational matters eg HR, remuneration including chair of Operations Committee and member of RI Committee

· Responsible for control framework/processes across the business and key contact for audits.

Responsibilities

Tax & Financial

· Lead a finance team

· Oversight of all aspects of financial reporting, including quarterly reporting to the Board and FCA and other financial & tax reporting for the group.

· Oversight of group reporting requirements.

Fund reporting and operations

· Manage/coach/lead the finance team, acting as a point of escalation and review.

· Drive systems improvements and best practices ensuring Fund Manuals are current and followed.

· Senior point of contact for Fund board re finance/tax matters and complex transactions.

· Senior point of contact for Fund Administrators, monitoring performance with team and board.

· Specific involvement with transactions where needed. For example, in-housing reporting on enforcements, new SPVs & structures, and tax matters

Processes and control

· Control environment: ensure Fund control environment is documented, understood and processed and implemented across the teams.

· External controls review (Funds): manage the external controls audit, timing, fieldwork and reporting. Work with the Fund Controllers and wider fund teams to improve processes/controls.

· Depositary visits (Fund) - lead point of contact for visits and issues.

· Assist/lead in new systems as necessary.

Operations

· Cover all HR and remuneration matters including LTIP, payroll, pensions, reviews and other employee-specific matters.

· Compliance: jointly have oversight/knowledge of compliance reporting and matters.

In terms of background, we're looking to speak to experienced FDs or CFOs or equivalent who are qualified (CA) with proven credentials in a senior leadership role working at board level in the investment management industry, ideally from a real estate, private equity, infrastructure, or debt fund. It's vital that you can hit the ground running in this appointment with a blend of core finance as well as commercial experience.

Superb communication skills, able to add value as an individual contributor and active team member. Strong leadership, team management and the ability to motivate and achieve high performance. We are looking for someone that shares the same level of enthusiasm as the founders and executive team, as well as being culturally adaptable and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
