Control & Accounting Analyst - London

A fast-growing Media company in London are currently recruiting for a Control & Accounting Analyst to join their expanding finance division. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring smooth day to day running of all functions.

This role will be a 12 month fixed term contract and will be in the companies "Insights" division. It is a financial accountant role based and will focus on month-end close activities. You will be working directly with the Senior Managers from both Control & Accounting as well as Decision Support pillars. The role requires excellent analytical skills and ability to build confidence with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the annual budget and input into the BFC consolidation tool
  • Closing the books at month-end including review of operating expenses (OPEX)
  • Reviewing the balance sheet and maintaining overall quality of reconciliations
  • Review of payroll each month and provide commentary as required
  • Facilitating the monthly hedging process to eliminate foreign currency exposure.
  • Facilitating recharges to other agencies and monitoring the P&L
  • Having the awareness and desire to look for improvements in ways of working and deliverables, whilst also seeking any new opportunities where additional analysis may be useful across the business.
  • Liaising with the offshore and shared service team to ensure month end deliverables are met
  • Assisting the C&A Senior Manager with adhoc queries and requests as needed

Skills:

  • Self-awareness and relationship-building skills
  • High integrity and keen eye for accuracy that builds trust in analysis being provided
  • Pro-active and ability to use own initiative
  • Accountable, delivers on promises and follows through on commitments even in challenging circumstances
  • 1 year of analyst or decision support roles
  • Studying or part qualified accountant - ACCA/CIMA studier
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Operated in complex matrix environment with the same size and scale
  • Experience from working in a similar industry or a project based organisation
