We're very proud of our Yorkshire roots and Asda House, our Home Office, is still in Leeds. The teams at Asda House provide support to all of our stores nationally through many diverse roles. So in the queue for lunch at the on site restaurant you might find a Buyer, a Solicitor, a Chartered Surveyor, a Project Manager, a Marketing Manager or an Accountant at any one time! About the role:

The Finance team play a key role in the success at ASDA and the Financial Planning (FP&A) team are very much at the heart of Finance with our Exec board and Wal-Mart as our key customers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the team, being responsible for owning and developing our corporate forecasting and reporting process. However, the role is not just about adding up the numbers. The candidate will be expected to analyse them, use their judgment and the network that they develop to really understand our corporate performance - making sure we give the right visibility of the right issues at the right time.

In summary this is a very commercial and analytical role and you will require strong influencing and networking skills to work at all levels of the Finance team. This is a great opportunity for a colleague with lots of drive and potential to work in a high profile and fast paced Finance team that develops talent and future leaders in finance.

The ins and outs:

• Responsible for the organisation & delivery of the monthly corporate forecast process
• Drive analysis and stakeholder engagement across the Finance team to understand, challenge and help evaluate performance
• Responsible for competitor financial reporting and analysing external market performance
• Support our corporate financial reporting to the UK Board and Walmart
• Establish, maintain and develop financial control across our forecast process and reporting

What you'll need:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build credible relationships and influence key stakeholders
• Strong commercial awareness - Ability to critically evaluate and clearly articulate commercial performance
• Team player & can do attitude - Motivated to get the job done and deliver to tight timelines; actively seeking accountability and opportunity
• Highly analytical approach with an eye for detail
• Competent excel skills and ideally you will have knowledge of Essbase, SAP and Anaplan systems
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum 1-2 years Post Qualified Experience
