An exciting new role has opened up at a leading energy firm in West London who are seeking a Direct Tax Advisor to work in their Upstream UK Tax team. The Upstream UK team is accountable for all Upstream Tax advice provided to the global Upstream businesses.

The successful candidate will provide a pro-active and commercially focused tax advice to the business and local tax teams which can often include M&A work. The team is deeply involved in quarter end tax reporting under IFRS and the Advisor will be expected to contribute to that process.

Key Accountabilities

• Plays a role in the identification, design and implementation of tax planning, advisory and compliance opportunities for the upstream business in the pursuit of protection and creation of value.
• Provides timely advice on new and existing business activities; to manage risk and seek continuous improvement.
• Plays an integral role in the quarterly tax reporting activities of the team and plays a role in the identification, design and implementation of tax reporting streamlining opportunities.
• Works closely with the Compliance & Reporting Team to meet the Group's UK compliance and audit obligations for relevant UK legal entities.
• Ability to operate independently and call on the requisite resources and expertise as necessary.
• Technical knowledge: excellent working knowledge across a broad range of UK and international tax issues.

They are looking for an ACA qualified (or equivalent) candidate that possesses strong communicational and interpersonal skills as the successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role requires advanced knowledge of own technical or professional discipline and awareness of other disciplines.
