The Finance team play a key role in the success of ASDA and the Financial Planning team are very much at the heart of this.

As Corporate Performance Reporting Manager, you will take specific responsibility for our corporate reporting processes. Your role is critical in driving clarity of corporate and functional performance to the Exec board and Walmart that will drive the right action and keep the business on track

In addition to owning internal corporate performance reporting, you will also play a key role in supporting the external communication of Asda's performance for the Exec board and Walmart investor relations and report on competitor results.

This is a great opportunity for an accountant with lots of drive and potential to develop within a fast-paced and high-profile team - you will build a great understanding of Asda Finance, the wider Asda business, and the broader retail market, setting you up well for future roles within Asda.


The ins and outs:

  • Your role will be to understand the Corporate Asda performance, build insightful analysis to support the key conclusions and be able to clearly communicate the important messages to key stakeholders
  • You will be responsible for delivering weekly and monthly corporate performance reporting to our Exec board and Walmart from start to finish - gaining an understanding of functional performance, engaging and influencing key stakeholders and communicating the final results
  • You will play a key role in supporting the external reporting of Asda's corporate performance, including the Quarterly results announcements in the UK and the US as part of the main WMT analyst reporting.
  • You will be responsible for managing the communication of competitor results announcements to senior internal stakeholders and understanding the key messages
  • You will work closely with your team colleagues within the Finance, Planning and Analysis team, to provide highly value-added analysis to our key stakeholders, primarily the Exec board


What you'll need:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong academic background
  • You will have a keen interest in the underlying commercial performance drivers across the business and a strong analytical ability to understand their impact on the overall financial performance
  • Clear communication skills are critical and you will need to be a strong team player with the ability to build relationships quickly at all levels and across all Finance teams in Asda
  • Proven ability to organise, prioritise and co-ordinate workloads within an environment of competing demands and deadlines
