A well established and market leading FMCG brand is looking for a Finance Manager to look after their Financial accounting/controls function and to manage a team, reporting to the Finance Director. The role is a great opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant/Finance Manager or experienced Financial controller.

Overview of role:

The successful Finance Manager will be responsible for accurately and robustly preparing the companies accounting records on a timely basis.

The focus for the role is on controls over processing Financial systems so that the organisation is provided with the necessary information and to ensure the correctness and robustness of the financial statements.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the online banking facilities including, maintaining the online platforms, liasing with corporate credit card providers and reconciling the invoice discounting facilities
  • To take ownership of the accounting cycle on a monthly basis, ensuring the closure timable is adhered to, working with the FP&A team to ensure managment reports are prepared and issued to all stakeholders
  • Manage, train and develop the accounts team comprising of an Assistant Accountant and 3 Accounts Payable Clerks
  • Assist with the annual external audit including preparation of tax plan completion annd balance sheet reconciliations
  • Be responsible for the inventory valuation within the business, understanding physical movements and action and revaluations and write-offs that may occur
  • Manage the resources and tasks within the team in order that they are skilled to cover all areas of Finance processes and to ensure the team is motivated and working towards towards agreed KPI's

Management:

  • Build relationships accross the business to develop and implement industry leading processes and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of system knowledge and, as a super user, ensure team are using all systems optimally
  • Work accross funtion to ensure an effective, joined-up approach on company processes that effect the Finance team

The successful candidate must have strong organisational skills and an engaging personality -able to build and maintain relationships within own team & company wide

If the candidate has experience in the FMCG industry and in implementing systems this would be highly desireable.
