Financial Reporting Accountant (specialist/syndicate)

A fast paced leading insurance/ reinsurance firm is looking for a high calibre qualified accountant to join their team as a Financial Reporting Accountant. This excellent opportunity will allow you to utilise your skills as you take on syndicate accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting task whilst reporting to the financial controller.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure all the relevant entries are posted and maintained for the UK entities within the company for the local statutory reporting.

• Reconciliation performed to ensure the data structure and integrity within the general ledger are accurate
• Ensure all ledgers are reconciled to the statutory accounts once they are finalised for all managed syndicated and UK subsidiaries of the company.
• Maintenance of an effective control environment to ensure accuracy and integrity of the trial balances for all the managed syndicates within the company
• Maintain an effective relationship with all key members of the external audit team and work to ensure all audit issues are addressed on a timely basis
• Work with the managers to maximise the efficiency of reviewing the returns and ensure the results to be reported to Lloyd's are accurate by ensuring all checks are performed.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Insurance experience with exposure to the Lloyd's market is desirable
• Technically strong
