Marks Sattin have been retained by a leading Private Equity Backed Group to help appoint a new Group Financial Controller for a new acquisition with their portfolio.
This a key role in the finance team taking responsibility to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting at Divisonal & Group level.
One of the major aspects of this role will be to help build a brand new finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in initial setup and ongoing development of a new central head office function, identifying any staffing or other requirements, working alongside the senior finance team.
- Management and development of the Core central finance team - including financial processing and financial and management reporting (excl. Tax, Treasury, Procurement and corporate finance)
- Responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts for all facilities, divisions, central departments, capex and group level management accounts.
- Responsible for managing the preparation of the Group and subsidiary statutory accounts
- Work alongside the CFO to ensure all requirements relating to statutory accounts and other statutory obligations are fulfilled.
- Responsible for the overall integrity of the monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation process ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and working closely with internal audit to also ensure a strong controls environment.
- Oversee the year end external audit process, maintaining regular dialogue with external and internal audit throughout the year.
- Support ad hoc project work, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, but also supporting other Executive management and senior members of the finance team
- Contribute to financial systems and process improvements to increase the efficiency and quality of the finance and reporting functions. In particular playing a key role in driving major improvements in the MIS and reporting outputs that support the business
Experience Required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)- minimum of 10 years PQE
- Experience of preparing accounts, managing accounting teams and dealing with external audits.
- Excellent Communication Skills
