Job Title: Group Reporting Accountant

Location: Leeds

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 plus 10% bonus and 5% matched pension

Hours & Model: Full Time with agile working - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the office

Overview

Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting, this role is a central finance role within the Group Finance Function and will be part of a small team, accountable for continuously improving, producing, and maintaining all internal and external group reporting requirements.

We are working together to find a people person; someone who can have fun whilst getting the job done. Our client comprises of a sociable bunch and being based in central Leeds it is not a bad location to be sociable! This role can lead you into an FC role whether that be internally or externally.

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified
  • Financial accountancy expertise, UK & International GAAP
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience of operating within a highly effective team
  • Highly numerate with the ability to analyse and evaluate information
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Well organised and efficient with a 'right first time' approach to quality of work
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different situations
  • Computer and IT literate with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of consolidation or accounts preparation software an advantage but not essential

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of Group consolidated monthly management accounts and finance pack including providing comprehensive analysis, variances to budget and forecasts and raising issues on a timely basis
  • Production of monthly management accounts for holding companies and group cost centres, including detailed balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring full integrity of the balance sheet.
  • Liaising with all areas of finance, ensuring all divisions have validated their monthly results, whilst managing issue resolutions
  • Liaising with Group auditors and ensuring subsidiary audits are progressing in line with reporting timetable and confirming key deadlines are met
  • Assisting in the preparation of Group Annual Report and Accounts, trading statements, interim reports and investor presentations
  • Accountable for full end to end preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts, through to audit sign off and delivery to Companies House working alongside the Company Secretarial team
  • Co-ordinate completion and collation of tax packs from all UK reporting entities, and review tax packs for submission to tax advisors
  • Swift preparation and sign off of dormant group companies
  • Contribute to a robust end to end Financial Control framework, implementing appropriate fully documented procedures, processes and controls
  • Identify and provide effective solutions for continual process improvement driving automation of processes
  • Supporting the development of the current reporting suite to dashboard analytics
  • Prepare draft monthly forecast and annual budget for Holding companies
  • Consolidate Group monthly forecast pack for review by the Executive Committee
  • Assist in managing and collating the annual consolidated Group budget and associated reporting packs
