Start your job searchAn exciting role has been created working within an engineering company based in Oxfordshire as the head of finance.
The Head of Finance will essentially support the Group FD and the board of directors in developing and implementing the group financials and commercial strategy. Be responsible for the development and management of the financial infrastructure, systems, and processes for the group to ensure its financial viability. This will include financial planning, budgeting, financial controls/audit, management accounting and reporting, cost accounting and payroll.
You will manage the finance team and control all financial systems, processes and transactions. Lead the design, development and implementation of the new ERP/Financial systems during 2014. Ensure effective internal and external audit process is in place with regular reporting tot he board. Prepare the annual financial accounts, liaise with statutory auditors to ensure requirements of HMRC are met. To ensure continued modernisation of the infrastructure, systems, policies and procedures across the finance team and particularly to ensure that the new ERP/Financial system is used to enable to MD and board to make informed financial and commercial decisions.
You will also be managing one direct report (Management Accountant) and it will be your responsibility to ensure objectives are set and appraisals take place regularly.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with knowledge of UK regulatory and accounting frameworks (Experience in other countries is desirable). Have an excellent understanding of financial planning, taxation, cash management, budgeting and reporting. Have a good working knowledge of ERP/Financial systems with experience of implementation, upgrades or change management.
Experience as a Senior Finance Manager in a multinational business in engineering or manufacturing would be ideal. Have experience of supporting senior managers, MD and board with financial planning, budgeting and reporting/MI. Must have experience managing a P+L, especially investment cases and the trade-offs between driving sales growth and maintaining/enhancing profitability. Must have experience managing people.
