This role is responsible for the performance, analysis and reporting of the portfolio companies for one of Europe's leading private equity firms. It's a commercial role which involves meeting and communicating with portfolio CEOs and CFOs on a day to day basis.

The company is highly regarded within the European private equity market and has a focus on TMT in the lower to mid-markets. The culture is incredibly friendly and sociable whilst they also take a progressive approach to flexibility and work/life balance. The portfolio, finance and operations teams have a total headcount of 15 and this role has 3 qualified accountants reporting into it. The role itself reports into the CFO.

In terms of the role; as mentioned, day to day you will be in conversation with various portfolio company CEOs and CFOs to ensure the accurate reporting of financial information. Often this will involve a consultative approach whereby you offer a strategic input on potential improvements. There are elements of portfolio accounting, realisation committee reporting, investor reporting and internal presenting. Effectively, you will be responsible for the financial planning and analysis of the portfolio's financial data and be expected to report this at board level. It's a fantastic, broad role.

The opportunity is a rare one with a lot of these duties often shared between finance and investment teams at other funds. Instead this is a chance to lead a function, in a growing and successful private equity firm with a very strong team around you.

Furthermore, the role has been described by the hiring manager as an excellent route into either more senior finance positions within private equity or to other industries via the portfolio company exposure.

In terms of experience, this role is best suited to an ACA (or equivalent) qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE but up to circa 10 years PQE. The role is big enough for all levels and the CFO is happy to be either hands off with a senior candidate or more hands on if necessary with someone more junior.

The candidate does NOT have to have come from a private equity background (although desirable), they CAN come from any industry providing they have experience of financial planning, financial control or MI analysis.

Regarding remuneration, the budget is open for the right candidate. They firm offers base salaries and bonuses that are above the market average.

If this is of interest, please do not hesitate applying. All applications are of course, private and confidential.
