I am happy to be working with a market leading SME, to assist in finding a Management Accountant, as a result of continued growth. The organisation is currently based in Slough, Berkshire, but will be relocating to Green Park, Reading within the next 6 months. The company has ambitious 100% year on year growth plans, making this a very exciting time to join. This role will sit in a finance team of 5, reporting into the Financial Controller.

The Duties:

Reporting

  • Producing first draft of monthly reporting pack to include, headlines, monthly P&L, P&L actual versus budget, balance sheet, aged debt analysis, historical cashflow analysis, cashflow forecast, client specific analysis, and month end checklist.
  • Providing commentary and variance analysis.
  • Critically reviewing the P&L and balance sheet reports to ensure there are no errors or omissions.
  • Assisting with budgets and forecasts.

Management of general ledger

  • Calculating and posting month end journals.
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliation file against trial balance.
  • Ensure all prepayments and accruals accurately reflect our business
  • Agreeing intercompany balances.
  • Updating exchange rates and revaluing accounts where required.
  • Working towards monthly management timetable and producing first draft account by WD5

VAT

  • Preparing and electronic filing of the VAT return.
  • EC sales returns.
  • Responding to HMRC queries.

Fixed Asset

  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Calculating the monthly depreciation charge and ensure posting to the ledger is correct.

Payroll

  • Monthly preparation of the payroll, including Auto-enrolment
  • Monthly payments to HMRC
  • Experience of handling payroll for 100 employees
  • Reconciliation on a monthly basis
  • Posting monthly journal to General Ledger
  • Completing annual P11D's and P60

General

  • Oversee the management of the ERP system (Greentree), to include managing users and ensuring the integrity of the system is maintained.
  • Monitoring monthly sales against budget
  • Completing annual P11ds.
  • Preparing audit schedules and assisting auditors during fieldwork
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
  • ONS report on monthly basis
  • Assisting Financial Controller with projects and ad-hoc tasks.

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA/Equivalent
  • Proven experience of Management Accounts, both preparation and reporting
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Intermediate Excel and MS Office skills
  • Highly numerate with attention to detail
  • Well-organised and reliable
  • Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated team player, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience working within a SME business
