Platform Engineer/AWS Consultant - Up to £600/Day

Context

My client, a global company based in South West London, is seeking a Platform Engineer/AWS Consultant. The Platform Engineer will be responsible for automating the build and configuration of the chosen platform components. They will be expected to create deployment pipelines and be familiar with continuous delivery concepts and tools like Ansible, Jenkins, OpenShift, Chef for AWS, or ARM templates, Visual Studio, and other Azure based tools. This position is based in one of my clients Digital Security Squads.

The Platform Engineer will be expected to work on telemetry and monitoring solutions using tools like Splunk and AppDynamics and maybe called upon to script solutions for monitoring and management. The Platform Engineer will be expected to have a certification on Azure or AWS.

The successful candidate will work jointly across the Security Engineering and Vulnerability Management Agile Squads to implement and maintain automated compliance checking code.

Desirable

• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Lambda (NodeJS / Python
• Some DevOps (CI:CD) experience
• Basic network experience Wireshark, troubleshooting etc desirable
• General Security experience and AWS security experience desirable
• AWS Architecture certification professional desirable
• Experience Agile ways of working and DevOps culture
• Experience of automation and development tooling such VSTS, GIT, and ability to learn other tools

Relevant Certifications

• Experience with AWS Development and automation
  * Writing cloudformation for provisioning
  *
  * Windows and Linux experience
  * AWS CLI scripting.
  * Serverless application model knowledge
  * Proactive, self-starting, willing to contribute to ideas and provide suggestions, speak up, work well in a team
  * Experience with SSM, kinesis, codepipeline, lambda, Athena, glue, config, security hub
