Senior Credit Controller - Woking, Surrey

I am happy to be working with an exciting global media business based in Woking, Surrey to support them in finding an experienced Credit Controller. This position has arisen due to the previous incumbent moving on after developing from a junior credit controller, and wanting to continue their development. You will sit within a Credit Team of 3 reporting to the Credit Manager, but will also be positioned with the wider finance team to streamline the resolution of any finance queries.

The Duties:

• Contacting clients when payment is overdue
• Negotiating re-payment plans
• Endeavour that all invoices are paid within the company payment terms and managing credit control procedures to keep debtor days and bad debts to a minimum
• Identify slow paying accounts and ensure they are processed through outstanding debt escalation policy agreed with Credit Control Manager and Financial Controller
• Develop and maintain relationship of trust and good will with the customers
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies
• Generate Debtor Age analysis
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
• Investigate and resolve customer queries
• Communicate and negotiate with customers via phone & email
• Perform sales ledger account reconciliations
• Ensure all invoices credits and payments have been correctly allocated to the correct accounts
• Provide review and summary analysis of aged debt
• Assist with month-end closing

The Candidate:

• You will have previous Credit Control experience of at least 2 years
• A strong understanding of the Credit Control process, and options available to ensure outstanding balances are paid
• Strong communicator with the ability to build strong lasting relationships that can benefit the business
• A good understanding of MS Excel and the wider MS Office package
• Previous experience of Sales Ledger control
