You will take the lead on managing the external audit process through each cycle of reporting, coordinating business leads and ensuring the internal control framework is leveraged appropriately in the audit process.

You will also proactively identify the requirement for new and updated accounting policies and to develop and implement them in accordance with IFRS, as required;

Specific Responsibilities include

• Manage the preparation of statutory group financial statements (including the annual report) and all external and regulatory reporting.
• Be a key contact point for external and internal audit.
• Define, analyse and interpret group financial information and results, providing quality analysis to allow improvements to the business units.
• Manage and implement and maintain the highest quality financial controls throughout Financial Reporting team ensuring full adherence to the Financial Control Framework.
• Motivate, lead and develop a team of 2 qualified accountants.

The Ideal Candidate

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified with PQE
• Financial reporting experience within medium/large companies, including lead on preparation of financial statements.
• Comprehensive experience and technical working knowledge of key accounting standards and policies under IFRS, and experience of implementing these standards
• Experience of managing a team
