Senior Infrastructure / Support Engineer - £40,000 - £50,000

A Financial Services company based in Central London is currently looking for a stand-alone Senior IT Systems Engineer to provide 1st to 3rd Line support at the required service levels for all company departments. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will also be responsible for the management of IT Systems/Infrastructure across the business.

The ideal candidate will come from an environment where they have worked solely on their own as an IT support engineer/Manager. Preferably with a user base of around 20-50 users. Knowledge of AWS cloud environments would be highly regarded. Extensive technical knowledge of networking/telephony/VOIP and IT infrastructure is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st to 3rd Line support at the required service levels for all company departments.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day installation, configuration, management and monitoring of the server infrastructure, and the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and cloud-based Microsoft and Linux servers and PCs.
  • Responsible for the management, monitoring, maintenance and provisioning of the following services: Amazon AWS Cloud environment, Active Directory, Microsoft suite, G-Suite, JIRA suite, VOIP systems, System Health Checks and Company CRM.
  • Manage and monitor the active directory and physical hardware support, including networking.
  • User management, including setup and installation of hardware and third-party services.
  • Build and manage Cloud environments to enable application deployments.
  • Engage with IT Delivery to plan and coordinate solution transition and application of upgrades.

Experience Required:

  • Proven track record of AWS setup, management and monitoring (S3, RDS, EC2 etc.)
  • Security and compliance (e.g. Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools)
  • Telephony knowledge including VOIP/SIP and mobile technologies, and IT/ICT further education qualification
  • Microsoft stack configuration management for the Microsoft stack
  • Active directory & physical hardware configuration, management and support
  • Networking is essential
  • Professional knowledge of JIRA suite, G-Suite, VOIP systems and MySQL
  • Linux, Windows and AWS certifications would be desirable but not essential
