A luxury, reputable and fast-growing multi-channel retail business is currently seeking their next hire to join the London finance team.

This is a new broad Tax role due to continued growth and will support the business's expansion across UK and international markets. Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of all tax matters for the international and UK business.
  • Responsible for compliance for UK tax related statutory filings.
  • Provide technical tax advice to the wider business and update processes to align with changes in taxation legislation.
  • Ownership of statutory tax and sales tax filings for international entities, including new territories hat the business enters.
  • Ownership of relationship with our Tax Software partner, ensuring any changes are updated and communicated to the Business.
  • Liaise with tax advisors on all Tax related queries and manage any reclaims and reviews.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all HMRC related queries and audits
  • Ownership of the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Risk Register and CCO (Corporate Criminal Offence) Compliance, hosting quarterly reviews to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Responsible for Transfer Pricing, working with external advisors to update regularly.
  • Ensure tax compliance for all EU VAT matters as a result of Brexit, including the budgeting and forecasting for import duty.
  • Ensure that the Tax/VAT impacts of any IT change or other business projects are fully understood and updated accordingly.
  • Liaise with the Group on any tax related matters ensuring allowances across the group are maximised.
  • Management and development of one direct report - Financial Accountant.
  • Additional ad-hoc related project work to support the wider team and business.

Candidates must be qualified (ACA/ACCA) or similar, and ideally having trained at a big 4/ top 10 firm. Candidates must have a strong technical tax accounting background with good knowledge of regulatory requirements covering Corporation tax, VAT/Sales Tax, and duties in the UK and Internationally. Prior experience working in a consumer/ retail business is desirable, with strong Excel and systems skills, and the ability to work well and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
