Working alongside the senior management team, this position will be responsible for growing a team in line with the growth of the company, managing high pressure periods including month end, year end and annual budgeting and providing meaningful analysis to support the business as required.

The Finance Director will be expected to:

  • Form a close, supportive working relationship with the head of marketing and commercial affairs, as well as other senior directors and non-execs
  • Working with the business heads to grow the business, formulating strategies and business plans
  • Providing leadership in regard to the boards Finance and Accounting strategies, to optimise the company's financial performance and strategic position
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong relationships with all external parties, advisors and investors
  • Take overall control for the company's accounting function, growing this and developing internal processes and procedures
  • Be the main point of contact for accountants working on the company's projects
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process and contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers

  • A fully qualified member of an accountancy body with a background in media/advertising/publishing
  • Being a commercially astute, entrepreneurial, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience of working in an SME where you have been a Head of Finance or Financial Controller, having implemented systems, processes and procedures
  • Having exceptional communication skills at all levels
  • Having strong IT skills, always being ahead of new technologies
  • Having the ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • Displaying a high level of integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
  • Being energetic, highly motivated and possessing an enquiring mind.
