SOX Compliance Manager

Position: SOX Compliance Manager

Salary: £50,000 plus excellent company benefit package and free on site parking

Location: Knutsford (Cheshire)

The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful applicant to progress and further develop their career. It is a high-profile role providing a great overview of the business together with exposure to senior management and excellent career progression opportunities.

Main Duties:

  • Implementing and embedding a sustainable SOX PMO and the related compliance processes
  • ensuring that efficient and effective financial and business controls are embedded in the design of the future global processes and support the Group strategic objectives
  • Partnering with the Business to advise, review and improve Controls
  • Responsible for the testing of Business controls, including Financial reporting and IT General controls and supporting the Global Process owners and Business Optimisation teams through controls advisory
  • Support the Head of Controls in updating and maintaining a SOX compliance program
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of clear, detailed and accurate SOX documentation, including process narratives, control descriptions, risk control matrices, test programs, test results, and management responses and remediation
  • Manage or assist in the implementation of SOX compliance for new acquisitions
  • Evaluate and propose improvements to controls and test of controls to improve the control environment
  • Assist with the SOC-1 process including compilation and review
  • Review and confirm IT SOX controls to support the overall SOX compliance program
  • Utilise sound judgment to identify and assess: risk, materiality, adequacy of audit evidence, compensating controls, and significance of findings
  • Establish and communicate timelines, requirements and issues with management in a professional and timely manner
  • Develop close but independent working relationships with all levels of management in all area of the business.
  • Assist with activities related to SOX SEC filings.
  • Provide external and internal auditor assistance as necessary

Requirements:

  • Must have SOX and Compliance Experience
  • Minimum of Account and Finance related degree qualification or above
  • Experience with or Oracle or ERP software system
  • Internal and external audit experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ideally from accountancy practice background
