Systems Administrator - £50,000

A growing global organisation in the Leisure space is looking for a Systems Administrator to be based out of its offices in central London.

The main remit of the role is to provide software and telephony support to all internal staff either via a remote connection or at the user's desk . Although this is primarily a Systems Administrator role, the successful candidate will be required to assist with Helpdesk tasks.

The successful candidate for this position will be comfortable investigating and suggesting new tools and solutions to best help the company achieve its goals and targets.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure internal servers, network devices and firewalls.
  • Proactively manage and maintain server, network and firewall systems
  • Administer and support core Microsoft, Avaya, AV and virtual technologies
  • Develop and implement Disaster recovery and contingency plans
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
  • Interact with customers and staff at a technical level, as required.
  • Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies
  • Managing in excess of 250 Windows Servers
  • Managing deployments/rollouts
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2008/2012) /Desktop OS (Window7)
  • Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare/Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server
  • Group Policy design and configuration
  • Microsoft IIS administration and configuration
  • Administration of Exchange 2010
  • Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
  • LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks)

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in IT support
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues
  • An excellent knowledge of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010/2013
  • A strong commercial background in user support
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
  • Must be a team player

Desirable Skills

  • SIP and ISDN knowledge
  • Understanding of SQL
  • Avaya phone system configuration, management and support
  • Awareness of information security good practice. PCI-DSS compliance
  • Change Management Process
  • Call Centre environment knowledge
