Technology Control Officer

A global financial services organisation is currently looking to hire a Technology Control Officer to be based at its prestigious central London headquarters.

The main remit of the role will be to ensure that information technology governance and control processes are appropriately designed and effectively executed, to deliver IT solutions effectively, avoid service disruption, protect data and meet audit and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate all IT-owned activities required to meet Regulatory and Audit commitments,
  • Maintain IT-owned Control Policies, Standards and Operating Procedures, partnering with control owners to ensure that controls are effectively designed.
  • Conduct Control Assurance activities to test whether IT controls are being executed as designed.
  • Provide testing advisory and provisioning services to projects, advising on the level of testing required and engaging external testing resources to meet demand.
  • Protect the live environment through disciplined but pragmatic implementation of the Change Management process
  • Ensure that changes have undergone appropriate testing.
  • Maintain and report on a register of Continuous Improvement actions to address issues identified via production incidents, audits, control assurance activities, or changes to regulatory expectations
  • Ensure that remedial actions are effectively designed and tracked to closure, and that any residual risk is clearly articulated and formally accepted

Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiar with ITIL Service Management practises
  • IT-related degree desirable but not essential
  • Technology Risk & Control or Governance accreditation (eg CRISC, CGEIT) desirable but not essential
  • A broad knowledge of IT infrastructure and application development
  • Familiarity with the ISO 27001 framework desirable but not essential
