Trading Systems Developer - London or New York

Global financial institution is looking to hire a Trading Systems Developer to work within its growing trading systems development team. The role will be based in either London or New York, depending on the individual's preference.

The focus for this position spans from front office development, order and trade management through to cash, trade settlement and position and trade reconciliation.

The new hire will report to the Director of Trading Systems Development and will have exposure to key personnel on both the trading and operational sides of the firm.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the current development team to support and expand the existing in-house developed front to back Trading systems.
  • Interfacing across teams within the firm (Trading, Operations, Finance, Controller, and Compliance) to capture requirements, design and implement solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Solid development experience
  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably with some trading floor exposure
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • C#, WinForms, .Net, SQL, Window's Services
  • SqlServer and solid relational database knowledge

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding for some or all of the following asset classes (Futures and Options, Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX)
  • Some knowledge of trade and cash settlement and reconciliation processing
  • Some knowledge of FIX messaging protocols
