A leading International mining and metals group headquartered in London requires a Treasury Accountant to joining their team on a 6 month contract.

The Treasury function is a centralized support and service function, acting as central banker to the Group. Treasury is responsible for the efficient financing and management of the Group's internally generated funds and its net external funding requirements. Treasury is organized into 3 functional teams - Capital Markets and Operations, Capital Planning and Risk Measurement, Pension Investments and Liabilities.

A 6 month opportunity exists for a Cash Management Assistant within the Cash Management team. You will be responsible for supporting the Manager, Back Office on all administration related activities in the Cash Management team.

Reporting to the Manager, Back Office your role will entail the following:

• Bank Account Administration - the opening and closing of bank accounts. This includes but is not limited to co-ordinating the signing and sending pre-agreed documentation to the banks, monitoring the status of the bank account opening/closing using the team's bank account tracker.
• Bank Mandate Administration - assisting the team in ensuring the mandates are kept up-to-date. This includes co-ordinating with the Company Secretary areas to obtain the updated standard bank mandate and sending to relevant banks.
• Updating the Cash Pool- responsible for updating of cash pool when there is a requirement to add or remove accounts. This would involve gaining signatures on standard documentation, sending to the bank and confirming the bank actioned the request.
• Bank Charge Analysis - work with the Manager, Back Office to ensure there is a robust bank charge analysis process and that the charges are redistributed where appropriate.
• Static Data Maintenance - responsible for the administration of the bank accounts within the Group's Treasury Management System and assisting the Cash Management team on its Static Data project which all team members are participating in.
• Project Support - Take a lead role in an ongoing project to tidy Static Data held within the Treasury Management System, and support on other projects as required.
• Operations Support - Support with Cash Management Operations, as required.

This role has daily interactions with banks and Rio Tinto subsidiaries worldwide. Therefore you will be required to have a professional and open-minded working relationship with those counterparts. A good cooperation with those teams is absolutely essential.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Some cash management experience preferred
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation skills & attention to detail
• Solid planning, problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and under the pressure of time
• Proactive approach in resolving problems
• Be confident and work well in a team
• Proficient in MS Office and Outlook - Visio would be an advantage
