The Business Analyst role is a core to our mission of enhancing, improving, and transforming our Technology functions and core business applications to deliver on our Technology Strategy. The Business Analyst will be working to ensure that our applications are:
- Agile
- Fit for Purpose.
- Cost Effective.
- Providers of Value
The Business Analyst works in the Technology function, reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, and will work closely with business stakeholders to identify the requirements for new and existing applications, challenge the business benefits of change and work closely with Project Management, Application Support, Technical Architects and Testing to ensure that changes are delivered to specification.
Main Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
Project Work:
- Work on projects to gather requirements.
- Produce technical and non-technical work specifications for change.
- Produce user stories, acceptance criteria and epics.
- Create workflow diagrams using tools such as Visio
- Work as part of a SAFe agile scrum team.
- Creating documentation to support projects
"BAU" Work:
- Work on small changes, primarily with the Application Support Team.
- Produce Change Request documenting the change.
- Make minor changes to applications (configuration based), based on knowledge of application.
- Complete Ad hoc tasks as required.
Testing:
- Ensuring the functional aspects of applications work as specified.
- Liaise with Testing function to explain and describe functional requirements in preparation of test scripts.
- When required help to test systems
Application Consultancy
It is expected that BA's will become experienced users of the applications they provide project work for - BA's are therefore expected to be able to provide consultation on functional change and solutions for products they are experienced in.
