Start your job searchA market leading SaaS IT business that is rapidly growing within their sector is seeking a prominent Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer with a broad scope of responsibilities. The successful applicant will be someone who is technically astute and commercially-minded to further drive growth organically in order to grow the business to the next level. This individual will be working closely with the sales director, service delivery director, CTO, head of development and product manager while businesses partnering with the CEO.
This business has a significant focus on profitability and value creation via recurring revenues, requiring you to build and improve processes, procedures, and controls to support strategic decisions that will position the business for a successful exit. A proactive hands-on approach, coupled with excellent communication and leadership skills will ideally allow you to make a positive effect on the business. The role requires a strong commercial outlook and a focus on the quality of products, management and services. Therefore, anyone considering the role must share the same values. As a leader of the business, you will be required to lead by example, be a role model, and have a specific focus on developing and retaining the best people. The COO will have overall responsibility for finance, accounting and operations (including HR) and will provide support to the business development and sales functions.
Key Responsibilities are:
- Clear and timely financial reporting to the Owner and key stakeholders
- Robust analysis and management of key operating parameters: project profitability, committed income, sales pipeline and overheads.
- Reviewing existing IT systems and processes in order to make recommendations for operational improvement
- Overseeing the HR function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody seeking a truly broad COO role in rapidly growing, entrepreneurial business. Importantly, the successful candidate for this act as a business partner to the Owner/CEO to propel the business forward.
Ideally, candidates will have proven experience in a COO or CFO role in the past and would preferably be qualified accountants. Some other key skills are strategic planning, operational management, sound decision-making ability under pressure, and an autonomous working style. Technically, an understanding of data analysis and operational/performance metrics, preferably within the software industry is a must. As a broad and all-encompassing role, these skills, along with the ability to comprehend all business functions (including Development, Sales, HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.) are essential to all those who apply to this role.
