Marks Sattin are working with a well established FMCG company with a head office based in Leeds. This role is to replace somebody who is moving into a new role within the company.

As part of the role you will prepare daily, weekly and monthly management reports (this is a small element of the role). The main aspect of the position is the investigation of trends, analytical review and interpretation of data: you will support the production of annual business plans / reforecasts & longer term business planning.

You'll work closely with sales & marketing teams to interpret accounting information, and use your knowledge to be able to successfully and collaboratively challenge information and assumptions being used. Part of this role will be to undertake investigations in areas of business performance and provide recommendations for future actions.

Working as part of our Commercial Finance Team, you'll provide financial reporting and data analysis support via the improvement of reports currently available and the development of new management information to enhance management of the business and improve decision making.

Month end duties include updating the sales deductions systems, Preparing and posting accruals journals into Sage, performing balance sheet account reconciliations.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would be most suited to someone from a highly analytical background with exceptionally strong Excel skills as the successful candidate must be comfortable importing and manipulating large volumes of data from differing sources and in varying formats, whilst demonstrating that the analysis remains integral and relevant.

You'll need to be able to work to a consistently high standard in a fast paced environment and have great communication skills, both written and oral. Good customer service skills are also key, and you'll need the confidence to be able to challenge stakeholders where necessary whilst maintaining a strong rapport.

You will need to be resourceful, energetic and self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail, naturally questioning and interrogating your work.
