A leading global law firm requires an ambitious and highly autonomous Financial Accountant to undertake this newly created position.

Based in the City of London, but with a truly global reach, this role offers superb long term progression into a number of potential roles and teams.

Overview of the role:

• Management of the month end close process for the U.K and Italy, as well as assisting colleagues in a range of countries with any technical queries and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Working closely with the Financial Controller to develop financial systems, processes, reporting, and controls.
• Working closely with the U.S based shared service centre to enhance outputs and efficiency.
• Completion of the annual statutory accounts for the UK and Italy, as well as a number of other entities and investments.
• Proactively meeting with colleagues across the globe to develop relationships and to align global process.
• Work closely with external auditors.
• Assisting colleagues within the FP&A team by providing narratives, and supporting them as required with their monthly reporting duties.
• Work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director on a number of key projects.

Candidate profile:

• Qualified accountant.
• Proven experience with UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Excellent eye for detail, with the ability to improve process and systems.
• Ability to act largely unsupervised.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
• Flexibility to travel for work when required.
