Financial Controller

This Harrogate based SME business is looking for a passionate and forward thinking Financial Controller who will help support the companies ambitious growth plans.

The role can be 4 days a week but we are also open to considering 5 days.

The role

• Manage the Finance department - day to day leadership of small team
• Support the Finance Director (number 2 role)
• Produce management accounts, financial reporting and cash flow management
• Ensure all payments and transactions are being processed smoothly by team
• Work towards KPI's in relation to month end and quarter end accounting and reporting
• Take the lead in identifying and implementing financial controls to strengthen and protect the business as it continues to grow
• Business partner stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies
• Work with department heads to drive operational efficiencies

Experience

• A sound technical understanding gained from completing your ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equiv)
• Good technical accounting knowledge
• A strong analytical skillset to interpret financial data, alongside good communication skills to articulate the information to department heads and senior stakeholders
• Experience owning all month-end processes including maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet
• Experience in industry is ideal although we will consider practice Accountants
