Start your job searchMarks Sattin are delighted to be partnered with a prestigious sporting events organisation for the recruitment of an experienced Financial Reporting Manager based in Birmingham City Centre.
As Financial Reporting Manager, you will work closely with partners, functional areas and the wider finance team to ensure accurate reporting of the results and timely key financial information.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting you will have overall responsibility for overseeing delivery of the financial data.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead in supporting the Head of Financial Management fulfilling their responsibilities for oversight of the Company's systems of internal control regarding finances, accounting and financial reporting.
- Accountability of month-end close process: issuing timely and accurate financial statements, monthly management accounts and Management Agreement requirements.
- Delivering monthly profit & loss and balance sheet commentary as required.
- Ensure robust internal and external financial reporting
- Lead on all aspects of Financial Processing and Reporting, to include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
- Production of technical accounting papers as required.
- Liaison with internal and external auditors as required.
- Ensure the financial management system is regularly maintained and accurately reflects the financial position
- Responsible for day-to-day Treasury Management
- Ensure that the Board approved financial controls are operating effectively.
- Work closely with the Financial Planning Team to ensure budgets are accurately represented in reporting and responsibly managed by the business.
Person Specification
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (CCAB qualified or similar - ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA etc)
- Significant relevant experience, including a management role within Financial Management.
- Strong experience of IFRS and its application.
- Excellent understanding of finance systems, controls, processes and procedures.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver high quality work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong Excel, IT and analytical skills.
- Ability to generate fit-for-purpose, accurate financial reports with a strong attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for Finance and Operations and Microsoft BI
