Group Auditor

Blackburn

Salary: Up to £50,000 dependant on experience

A hugely successful market-leading business based near Blackburn is currently recruiting for a Group Auditor to join their Internal Audit team. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of risk based reviews including business internal control, financial services audits and information systems audits.

You will have to ensure the risks are managed across a period of significant change to the business, reporting on the business readiness and its control environment, with recommendations for improvement in policies, procedures and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Group Internal Audit in determining the auditable activities and in the development of an Audit Plan.
• Plan and execute assigned audits within the framework of the Annual Audit Plan
• Take ownership of each assigned audit from the initial planning, report issue and the tracking of outstanding actions
• Communicate audit findings to the Head of Group Internal Audit and to local management through participation in exit meetings.
• Draft audit reports and risk assessments, including recommendations for improvements taking into consideration best practice across the business.
• Comply with Internal Audit policies and procedures thereby giving assurance on the suitability of internal control design

Knowledge/Skills Experience:

• Good understanding of internal controls
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them in a business setting
• Excellent communications skills (written and oral)
• Working knowledge of business software applications
