This is a key, senior-level hire. The right candidate will have the freedom and scope to make a significant contribution to the management of the clients Ireland operation.

Initially the only member of the local finance team, the candidate will be required to perform a broad role. This will include (but is not limited to) helping to develop the commercial capabilities of the firm's Ireland operations in line with business plan priorities; and the day-today management of all finances (including budget management, the creation of detailed accounting records, production of statutory accounts and managing a range of external relationships with providers).

Responsibilities:

  • Financial support for the local management team which will include creating the annual budget and quarterly updates, interpreting centrally provided financial data on KPIs including around billing and cash
  • Local credit control for escalation on older debts
  • Maintaining the local accounting records, processing transactions and journals, providing monthly analysis on figures in standard company format and preparing the annual consolidation package for Ireland
  • Partner accounting including induction of new partners, processing of leavers and ensuring partner capital arrangements are in place
  • Complying with Irish Law Society accounting rules around client money
  • Local tax and regulatory reporting including transfer pricing, VAT and liaison with external auditors.
  • Assisting with the production of financial plans for the office, including annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts
  • Leading the local financial management function, with assistance from central finance
  • Providing assistance with the production of bills including ensuring compliance with local legal and tax requirements
  • Completing the annual group consolidation pack
  • Ensuring accurate records are maintained of partner capital, current and tax balances.
  • Provide information as necessary to the central partner accounting team
  • Recruiting and managing finance team members
  • Reconciling inter-firm balances monthly
  • Completing the quarterly Tax Checklist
  • Ensuring that lrish Law Society accounting rules are complied with
  • Ensuring all local statutory reporting requirements are met
  • Completing and submitting VAT returns
  • Ensuring exchange control regulations are complied with
