Marks Sattin is proud to represent our esteemed client in their search for a commercially driven, tenacious, and highly organised M&A Deal Originator. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving organisation that places individuals at the heart of its business. This role can be based out of either Manchester or London.

About the Role: Our client is seeking an M&A Deal Originator to join their prestigious Corporate Finance team. As part of the M&A Origination function, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of their sell-side pipeline by identifying, researching, and engaging with prospective business owners considering a transaction. Reporting to the Deal Advisory partners and working closely with the wider M&A team, you will manage early-stage business development with potential clients, positioning the firm as the adviser of choice in the lower mid-market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Research Opportunities: Conduct desktop research and utilize various tools to uncover potential sell-side M&A opportunities across diverse sectors.
  • Lead Management: Build and maintain lead lists and CRM records of target businesses and key contacts.
  • Outreach Campaigns: Create and deliver high-quality, personalised outreach campaigns via email, LinkedIn, and phone to engage potential clients.
  • Preparation and Support: Assist in preparing briefing notes, target summaries, and internal opportunity reviews for partner-led discussions.
  • Client Engagement: Attend introductory calls and meetings with prospective clients alongside senior team members.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to align origination efforts with key strategic priorities.
  • Reporting: Contribute to regular business development reporting, pipeline updates, and internal origination meetings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development, lead generation, or outbound sales.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive and professional approach to building relationships.
  • Comfortable working to and exceeding KPI targets, especially in outreach or engagement metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of LinkedIn and CRM platforms.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
  • Basic understanding of M&A or the investment lifecycle is advantageous but not essential.

Our client puts individuals at the heart of their business, providing exciting opportunities across the firm and enabling their team to achieve new heights in their careers. You will be challenged, supported, and most importantly, heard. You will receive hands-on training, personal development, and support from leading and seasoned practitioners, partners, and experts in their field, enabling you to quickly grow your knowledge and expertise and excel in your chosen career.

Our client values their employees' hard work and offers an extensive benefits and perks package covering lifestyle, health and wellbeing, development, and finances. Enjoy an additional day off to celebrate your birthday, utilise the in-house mentoring scheme, and access the Work Life Well platform, among many other perks.

If you are ready to take your career to the next level and be part of a dynamic team, apply now!
