I am pleased to be partnered with the UK's leading wholesale supplier who due to rapid growth, are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join the team in this newly created role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly team to be based at their head offices in Leigh. Working within the Finance Department, dealing with all aspects of VAT, statutory reporting, taxation and coordination within external audits. Due to the nature of the role, it is full time in office, Monday - Friday (9AM - 5PM) candidates must be happy to be on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing monthly management accounts, including VAT reclaims, variance analysis and analytical commentary.
  • Accruing/Prepaying monthly costs, preparing journals and maintaining schedules.
  • Take responsibility for key balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a periodic basis.
  • Support with budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans
  • Ensure capital expenditure is recorded correctly and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Liaise with treasurer to ensure cashflow forecasts are accurate.
  • Manage fixed asset register maintenance.
  • Promoting sound financial management by ensuring compliance with all financial regulations.
  • Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary.


Requirements:

  • ACCA/ CIMA or ICAEW Part Qualified/ finalist
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a similar capacity
  • Experience with Excel and accounting software.
  • A self-starter who can work autonomously with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to meet department deadlines
  • Previous experience in month end + VAT
  • Enjoy taking responsibility for your area and be happy to work independently
  • Previous background working within a fast-paced environment ideally manufacturing/ distribution
