Start your job searchMarks Sattin are currently working with a PE backed food manufacturer to assist in the recruitment of an MRP system administrator. As system administrator & MRP Manager you will combine the responsibilities of system administration and material requirements planning (MRP) management. In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the MRP system, ensuring its smooth operation, and managing the MRP process to optimize inventory, production, and material planning.
Responsibilities:
- System Configuration: You will be responsible for configuring the MRP system according to the organization's requirements. This involves setting up modules, workflows, user roles, and security settings.
- User Management: Managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels within the MRP system. This includes creating new user accounts, assigning appropriate roles, and ensuring data security.
- System Maintenance: Regularly monitoring and maintaining the MRP system to ensure its availability and performance. This includes applying updates, patches, and fixes provided by the MRP vendor.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Addressing technical issues and providing support to end-users who encounter problems or have questions related to the MRP system. This may involve investigating and resolving system errors, data discrepancies, or performance issues.
- Data Management: Overseeing data integrity and data management processes within the MRP system. This includes ensuring data accuracy, performing data backups, and assisting with data migration or integration projects.
- Training and Documentation: Conducting training sessions to familiarize users with the MRP system's functionality and features. Additionally, documenting processes, procedures, and system configurations to create a knowledge base for future reference.
- System Enhancements: Collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system improvements, such as implementing new modules, customizations, or integrations. This may involve coordinating with MRP vendors, developers, or consultants.
- Security and Compliance: Ensuring the MRP system adheres to security protocols and compliance requirements, such as data privacy regulations or industry-specific standards. This involves implementing security measures, monitoring access controls, and conducting periodic audits.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of MRP Systems: A strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, including their functionalities, modules, and best practices. Familiarity with popular MRP software packages is highly beneficial.
- System Administration Experience: Prior experience in system administration or IT roles, with a focus on managing enterprise-level systems. Knowledge of system configuration, data management, user access control, system security, and troubleshooting is essential.
- Supply Chain and Manufacturing Knowledge: A solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes, including inventory management, demand forecasting, production scheduling, and procurement. This knowledge helps in effectively utilizing the MRP system to optimize material planning and production.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial for addressing technical issues, optimizing system performance, and resolving operational challenges.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and IT departments. The ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is essential.
- Attention to Detail: MRP systems involve managing vast amounts of data, so meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure accuracy and reliability in inventory management, planning, and system configuration.
- Continuous Learning: Being open to ongoing learning and staying updated with industry trends, advancements in MRP systems, and emerging technologies is important to excel in this role.
- Education and Certifications: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, operations management, or computer science is often preferred. Additionally, certifications in supply chain management, MRP systems, or system administration can provide a competitive advantage.
