Payrol Manager

£35,000 - £45,000. Chesterfield

I'm currently looking to backfill a Payroll Manager for a mullti-national, billion turnover business based in Chesterfield. It is an urgent requirement for the business, therefore permanent, contract and temp-to-perm optioons are all beuing considered.

The Role

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff, with the implementation of KPI's within the department
  • Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements
  • Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
  • Responsible for the processing of 3 SSC related monthly payrolls
  • Direct the preparation of payroll related documents
  • Administer benefit plans
  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
  • Compile data from payroll sources for Management Reporting purposes
  • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
  • Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations
  • Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations (Net Pay, PAYE, NIC, Deductions etc) and thereby maintain accurate account balances
  • Document, review and improve payroll policies and procedures
  • Agree with IT Department the allocation of responsibilities for the maintenance of current employee data systems
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Interpret and communicate new legislation impacting payroll
  • Manage, take accountability and resolve issues relating to payroll production
  • Responsibility for the payment of all pensions across to relevant providers ie NEST, Friends Life or other individual schemes and undertaking the balance sheet reconciliations
  • For all payroll matters be the key point of contact with HMRC and ensure no legislation breaches and controls are in place to prevent such instances
  • Dealing with unresolved escalation of queries from team
  • Responsible for ensuring all RTI submissions submitted on a timely basis and full tax year end reconciliation and submission completed
  • Responsible for relevant benefits reporting to HMRC e.g P11d's
  • Responsible for administration of Company Car scheme
