The Retail Finance team supports the operational side of the business, that's over 600 stores across 29 regions and 4 formats. Our role is to business partner the various functions within retail and to provide commercial analysis and support.

The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through focused cost control and LCOM initiatives. Retail Finance are also responsible for ensuring plan equity, driving improvements in store EBITDAR, providing support for new projects/innovations and the 3 year plan.

The vacancy is in our central team, acting as a cost line owner covering financial performance of some of our key cost lines. The role offers great variety, from helping an individual store understand their MTD performance to supporting the delivery of the largest LCOM program ASDA's ever undertaken!

Primarily responsible for managing all employment cost lines including:

  • Ownership of Shrink, Waste and store supplies cost lines.
  • Ownership of monthly YTG R&O process for these lines
  • Using analytical skills to identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Managing the weekly forecast ensuring this is interpreted and communicated in the right way
  • Interpreting performance to drive the right behaviour
  • Holding stakeholders to account for delivery of plan by quarter
  • Appraisal of potential investment opportunities to inform business cases
