This Revenue & Inventory Accountant position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is studying their ACCA.
There are 2 main aspects to this role:
- Deliver correct accounting for the businesses inventory movements, which involves the financial management of book stock movements in the inventory system and echoes this in the accounting system.
- Prepare a core set of regular month-end journal entries for some of the company's Revenues and to achieve reconciliations as appropriate to validate the revenue accounting.
Responsibilities
- Arrange various inventory related journal entries on a monthly basis, which are aligned with professional accounting standards and with internal accounting guidelines.
- Preparation of a monthly revenue report for sales of rights, permissions and licenses.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations of several accounts, most notably finished inventory, prepares and work in progress.
- Generation of a monthly books KPI reporting dashboard.
- Performing reconciliations of source data where there are other business systems interfacing into SAP
- Extracting revenue reports from third party systems to feed into our accounting working files
- Assisting more senior team members with calculating and preparing suitable revenue accruals which are in line with professional accounting standards and with internal accounting guidelines.
- Contribute to the year-end audit work as required.
- Contribute to adhoc projects as required.
Experience, skills and qualifications
- Should have experience of using SAP.
- Must have solid experience working within a Finance function (preferably within a similar industry but not essential).
- Must have strong knowledge of ledger accounting.
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must have a good all round skill-set using Microsoft Excel, with the aptitude to be able to handle large data sets.
- Should have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Would suit someone with an interest in problem solving, who is prepared to take a proactive and imaginative approach to finding solutions.
