My client is a market leader within the Logistic sector based in Central London; they are currently seeking to employ a Financial Planning Analyst.

The successful candidate will have a commercial mind set as he/she will take the lead on the appraisal of major investments, regenerations, development programmes and potentially M&A opportunities.

The role holder will provide analysis to senior management and to committees on development capacity as well as providing cover and support to other Senior Financial Analysts in the team.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for deploying the planning, budgeting and forecasting process for the Sales function, which operates across the Parcels, Letters and International business units
• Provision of regular, quantitative analysis and insight to drive the performance agenda and support decision making
• Review the sales incentive structure and maintain analysis showing performance against incentives in support of sales reward structure
• Ensure sales customer contact is an integral part of marketing strategies across commercial, and put in place measurement of the effectiveness of the sales channel
• Support business unit in identification and evaluation of new business opportunities with emphasis on both revenue growth and margin improvement
• Collaboration with the Business Partner teams and commercial stakeholders to monitor market and economic factors and provide early warning and insight into the potential effect on sales performance
• Drives continuous process improvements and promotes best practice

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• You must have a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA /CIMA)

• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with and make sense of large data sets
• Experience supporting a Sales function preferable
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders up to Leadership Team level and explain complex financial information to a non-finance audience
• Understands the business drivers and the environment in which it operates and applies this to deliver value
• Good understanding of performance management, financial control and financial planning processes
• A strong team focus, able to contribute effectively in a collaborative working environment
• Ability to manage complex financial issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
